Mark Thompson
Mark is the founding Director of Initiative back in April 1999, and is ultimately responsible for all aspects of the company operations, ensuring that our diverse range of services exceed client and stakeholder expectations.

Melanie Thompson
Melanie joined Initiative in 2002 as a Director with over 25 years’ of secretarial, managerial and administrative experience.

Gavin Hedge
Gavin joined Initiative in March 2005 as a Director and works closely with the Directors, our clients and stakeholders to develop a good relationship, ensuring that their projects are delivered on time and to their desired standard.

Tim Woodfield
Tim joined Initiative in January 2016 as a Senior Health & Safety Consultant delivering a wide range of Health & Safety consultancy and training related services to Initiative clients.

Kris Allen
Kris joined Initiative in September 2018, as an associate Health & Safety Consultant delivering a wide range of specialist Health & Safety consultancy and training related services to Initiative clients.

Steve Bell
Steve joined Initiative in May 2018, as an associate FSC & PEFC Chain of Custody expert to Initiative clients with implementation and maintenance of their FSC® or PEFC chain of custody certification requirements.

Russell Ribeiro
Russ joined Initiative in September 2023 as an Associate Health & Safety Consultant delivering a range of Health & Safety consultancy and training including Manual Handling; First Aid and Fire Safety.

Lewis Thompson
Lewis initially worked on a part time basis for Initiative as a teenager and whilst studying at Worcester University, developing skills in all aspects of the family business.

Russell Ribeiro - Associate Health & Safety Consultant

Russ joined Initiative in September 2023 as an Associate Health & Safety Consultant delivering a range of Health & Safety consultancy and training including Manual Handling; First Aid and Fire Safety.

Before joining Initiative, Russ gained 23 years’ Senior Management level experience within the Leisure industry working within Operations/ Health & Safety. Since 2018 he has gained a lot of experience consulting with various other businesses including manufacturing; food production; hospitality & leisure. He also has experience delivering the IOSH Managing Safely & IOSH Working Safely courses.

Key Professional Honours / Memberships

Cert IOSH working towards Chartered Status.
NCRQ Level 6 Applied Health & Safety.
Certified First Aid / Health & Safety/ Fire Safety Trainer/ Assessor.
